Resources to help you understand how to operate in phase two of the province’s re-opening plan

This week marked the beginning of phase two in the provincial government’s plan to gradually re-open our economy and resume certain pre-COVID-19 activities.

To understand how this impacts how REALTORS® and real estate brokerages can operate, WorkSafeBC released re-opening protocols for the real estate industry.

They’ve also released a template for a re-opening safety plan.

Your Board also created a checklist for real estate offices to be used in conjunction with WorkSafeBC’s guides.

To clarify what these new protocols mean for you, watch the below video message from REBGV Chair Colette Gerber. In it, she addresses a number of recent member questions, including whether to resume hosting open houses.

“As a profession, we have a responsibility to continue to do our part to keep our communities safe and to prevent the further spread of illness,” Gerber says in the video. “At this stage, this means not holding open houses or other events that could result in large gatherings. The time is not yet right to resume these activities. We’re relying on all of you to follow through on this recommendation. We must do this for the safety of our clients, the general public and our Realtor community.”
